Music production is both a creative and technical process. Creatively, producing music is a space where you can find your focus and give your life real meaning, whether working solo or through collaboration. Technically, it involves using a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) such as Logic Pro or Ableton Live; programming beats and virtual instruments; using multiple plug-ins and effects like reverb and delay; incorporating vocals and live elements into the track and editing them; mixing the track so it is balanced and clear; and finally mastering it so it is loud and can compete with other commercial releases. The demand for great music has never been stronger and skilled, entrepreneurial music producers have many opportunities for successful careers.
