PBLA Industry Talks is a new series in which pointblank LA’s key music business instructor Marko DeSantis sits down with some of the biggest names in the music industry to chat about their careers, their insights into the music business, the skills it takes to achieve success, and more. Marko is an industry legend in his own right, best known as the lead guitarist for the rock band Sugarcult, with whom he received a RIAA-Certified Gold® Record for the debut album Start Static. For this Industry Panel session, Marko will be joined by critically-acclaimed producer Yeti Beats.
Yeti Beats is a Los Angeles-based music producer, songwriter, manager, and DJ. Yeti discovered and signed Doja Cat to a production deal in 2013 and is credited for helping develop her sound and navigate successfully through the industry to her first #1 hit and beyond. He has been the lead collaborator and executive producer behind several Doja Cat hits, including the #1 hit single “Juicy” ft. Tyga and TikTok sensation “Candy” as well as “Say So (Remix)” feat. Nicki Minaj, a #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. In addition to Doja Cat, Yeti has produced for several reggae, rap, and R&B artists, including Rebelution, Konshens, Common Kings, and more. Yeti is currently finishing Doja’s new album and has songs in the works with BJ the Chicago Kid, Andra Day, Mahalia, and Kat Dahlia.
In this panel, Yeti will share his expertise and industry insight on what it takes to become a successful collaborator and producer for major artists. Yeti will dive into the ins and outs of assisting and collaborating with artists during their creative process and in the recording studio to produce chart-topping hits.
