Meet Mobo and BET award winner Tony Rotton AKA Blak Twang. Born Tony Olabode in Manchester, England, the UK music legend is widely regarded as one of the founding fathers of UK Hip Hop as we know it. Twang is famed for his live performances all around the world and his ability, especially in his earlier recordings, to include various South London word usage and slang as well as locations without sounding too obvious, making him a firm favourite with English hip-hop fans as the original, "Hip-Hop Geezer." Join us in this session as we explore who Blak Twang is and how he got to be cemented in the tapestry of UK music. He will take us through the do's and don'ts of the industry as well as bestow technical knowledge of the art of rap music.
Having written, produced and collaborated with a plethora of artists like Beverly Knight, Estelle, Roots Manuva, Durrty Goodz, Akala, Lynden David Hall Wu tang clan etc. Blak Twang will be speaking to you about how he got started in the music business, his experience in the game, mhis creative process and what inspires his ideas to make music and song writing. He will also offer advice to aspiring artists/producers/song writers and give an insight into how the industry works and the changes that have happened especially when it comes to uk Hip-hop.
