At pointblank Music School we offer Academic Support Meetings, a supportive space designed to assist Higher Education (HE) students with academic writing and study strategies.
Students can receive guidance on various topics relevant to the assignments they are current working on.
- Here is an example of the kinds of topics covered in the meetings:
- Writing in an academic context
- Planning for deadlines and organising workflow
- Study skills such as note-taking, time management, and revision
- Research skills
- Referencing
- Written assignments
- Understanding feedback
- Presentation skills
- Using the library
Each Academic Support Meeting can last up to 30 minutes and can be conducted via Zoom or in person at the Penn Street campus in the library space. You can book one off meetings as and when you feel you would benefit from the support, or you may wish to book a series of meetings to check in with the team throughout the term.
If you choose the in person option you will meet in the library space at Penn Street – a great location to help you focus and commit to a study session with all the resources you need.
The Academic Engagement Team is committed to supporting students throughout their academic journey, helping them achieve success in their studies.
